Leaves are harvested earlier and because of that more antioxidants which have been generated during the growth of the plants are retained. The process of drying the leaves is much slower. The distinctive yellow color is gained through the partly oxidized leaves. During the process of slow drying the tea loses his bitter taste which is a characteristic of the green tea, therefore some people prefer this golden – yellow beverage over the green one. This tea is not only perfect for losing weight, but it also helps preventing diseases like cancer and works great against infections.

Ways to lose weight: My Experience With Meal Replacement Shakes

I started researching meal replacement or weight loss shakes several weeks ago. I went online to find which shake I could use to lose a few pounds as well as to provide good nutrition and a good hunger blocker.

I tried one because it was convenient, one because it was free and the third as a result of my online research.

Slim Fast: The first shake I tried was Slim Fast. Since I am a chocoholic. I chose the chocolate shake. I must say I really like the taste of the Slim Fast chocolate shake. The convenience of Slim Fast was another big plus. It can be purchased at most grocery stores, drug stores and Walmart. I can also be purchased already mixed in a handy plastic bottle at a price of $1.30 to $1.80 per shake.

The drawback for me was 200 calories and 22 grams of sugar. Since my goal was to lose weight and to get the proper nutrients I just thought I could find something better. Another drawback was the hunger blocker. Although I very much enjoyed the taste, I was hungry an hour later.

Advo Care: The second shake I tried was Advo Care. A package of chocolate shake mix was given to me by a distributor. The flavor was good but I preferred the taste of the two other brands I tried. The hunger suppressant was very good. I felt satisfied longer than with Slim Fast.

One drawback for me was 220 calories. Another was the price of about $2.57 per serving. The product is only available through distributors.

IdealShape: The last shake I tried was IdealShape. I am still using IdealShape to replace two meals each day. I like the taste and I think it is comparable to Slim Fast which was my favorite taste wise.

Nutritionally IdealShape is great with 50% RDI per serving and only 100 calories and 2 grams of sugar. The hunger blockers seem to work well. I am usually satisfied after each shake until my next shake or mealtime.

With only chocolate and vanilla flavors available some might think that would be a drawback but for me it is okay since I am very happy with the chocolate. The website does have recipes available for adding different flavors.

IdealShape can’t be found in stores and must be ordered through their website. The good news is that it is not MLM so there are no hassles when ordering and it comes with a guarantee. At a price of $1.33 to $1.66 per shake it comes with a handy blender bottle that works great.

My Results to Date: I have been using IdealShape for about two weeks. I enjoy the flavor and I feel satisfied from one meal to the next. The blender bottle works great. A few good shakes of the bottle and I have a nice smooth shake.

I have lost 7 pounds so far but at a beginning weight of 235 I still have a few pounds to shed. The great thing is I have noticed an increase in energy. I am not very good at eating the right foods so I think IdealShape is insuring I get the right nutrients.

    There are many different ways to embark on a weight loss program, perhaps you yourself have tried various different ways before, some of you will have been successful and others perhaps not so lucky.

    You may be surprised to learn that one of the ways towards weight loss is in fact drinking tea – yes you heard or rather read right. Tea drinking, more specifically green tea. Researchers have actually concluded that drinking green tea can reduce body weight and has health benefits.

    Let me tell you a bit about how it works. Green tea is enriched with antioxidants, which are compounds that protect other substances from oxidation.

    Antioxidants help to protect cells from chemicals that have destructive actions called ‘free radicals’ which include aging and irregular metabolism. ‘Free radicals’ damage has been implicated in diseases such as heart disease, stroke and cancers. By regularly consuming food and drinks that are rich in antioxidants, we can help to soak up these ‘free radicals’. Fruit and vegetables are a good source of antioxidants but we can increase our intake by drinking tea, which is known to be rich in a particular group of antioxidants called flavonoids. Three cups of tea have about 8 times the amount of antioxidant power as there is in one apple.

    The Chinese have been drinking green tea for hundreds of years to aid slimming. They use blends of traditional herbs and plants that are known have health giving properties in their green teas. These will usually include, tea leaves, usually oolong that are sun dried to prevent oxidation, Lotus leaf to clean the spleen and aid digestion and metabolism, Hawthorn for assisting digestion, Alisma Rhizome and Cassia seeds, both of which are used to support the body’s organs, and Poria which assists the immune system. You can even learn to make your own!!

    In fact in general when you start drinking green tea you’ll be in good company. Famous people such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and Eva Longoria are reported to regularly drink green tea. Best put the kettle on then before you settle back and read the rest!!

    One of the more commonly known weight loss teas is Cho Yung Tea. This contains green tea and has an antioxidant function. As with all green teas, Cho Yung is a safe and natural way to improve your health and well being. The way it works is by oxidising fat rather than blocking its absorption. Rather than just take my word for it however, Chinas own Ministry of Health have given Cho Yung Tea a certificate of approval for health food, stating that it has a slimming effect.

    As a stand-alone tea, Oolong has qualities of black and green tea. It has a distinctive fruity taste and a lovely golden colour. Again, the Chinese have always used it to aid weight loss and is present in the Cho Yung tea above. Oolong is widely used in many slimming remedies.

    Yogi Tea produce an organic womens fitness tea, which again has been formulated using herbs that are said to support good metabolism, it uses Pu-erh tea which is known worldwide for weight loss properties, and is balanced with Mate from South America which is a natural energiser, and combined with Rosemary and Nettle, both of which are rich in nutrients.

    Tea producers Birt & Tang have used the same method of combining the Pu-erh or Oolong tea with various different herbs and nutrients to have a range of weight loss teas to suit all palates. These include Detox green tea, designed to help cleanse the major organs. Figuro, made with a blend of cassia tora and hawthorn believed to eliminate stagnant qi (natural body energy).
